Can you tell us a little bit about your background? How did you end up in your current role?

I have always been fascinated with the way a project starts: from sketching ideas onto paper to seeing this masterpiece that has been created, which led me to be captivated by the Film and TV Industry. As a result, I studied at Southampton Solent University and graduated with a 2:1 BA Honors. Unfortunately, I did not have much luck getting my foot on the ladder in any companies as they requested three years of admin experience, therefore I got myself an office job. Over time, being in a client-facing administrative type of role, I realized I enjoyed this type of work. I had a baby boy in 2020, and once I came back from maternity, I identified that my current role was not right for me anymore, I needed a job where I could build my career that allowed me to provide for him and make him proud. And with some luck, I found Just Global. I remember at the time thinking, I am not going to get offered a job here, but I am going to give it a good shot as this company and role sounds like exactly what I’m looking for: Admin, Video Production, client-facing, great culture, awesome prospects and career progression, wellness Fridays, etc. And now I am nearly six months into my role, being the most content and grateful I have ever been.

You recently were nominated as Just Global’s Employee of the month, congrats! Can you tell us a little bit about a project/projects you’ve been most proud to work on and why?

I would not say I am most proud of a particular project but more that I have proven to myself that I am able to manage a whole workstream on my own with success, despite not having any marketing background or agency experience.

What does your day-to-day job look like? Take us through your work routine:

Coffee, headphones on and go over my To Do List that I prepared the evening before, working out where I can fit in the time to do each task around meetings, ensuring I get the whole list ticked off before I log off. Throughout the day, I will set a timeframe to myself for when I can get up to make another coffee/ tea or grab snacks, pushing myself to use my time effectively and get the work done with full focus.

What career advice would you give your younger self? What about life advice?

This is a phrase that someone said to me once and it has stuck with me – Focus on the performance, not the reward and everything will fall into place.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work? Do you have any hobbies?

I am massive on family time so most of my spare time is spent with my little boy – adventuring to different nature parks, trying different foods, dancing to music, and making random bits from arts and crafts. In the evenings, I like to enjoy a cheeky glass of white wine with a facemask and a crime drama series.  Equally, I love to socialize with my mates and have a jagerbomb or 2.
