Meet Natalia Robinson: Digital marketing evangelist, board game strategist and proud Oakland citizen
What is your role at JUST Media?
I am the primary contact for my clients and work with a talented team of specialists to collaborate on campaign strategy and guide campaign execution. I connect with vendors throughout the industry and JUST Media platform specialists to create campaign plans that fulfill my client’s goals. I also report on and share insights into campaign performance and future campaign recommendations. I also work with my clients to have strategic conversations around advertising strategy, optimizations and how we can develop the accounts together.
What is your favorite thing about digital marketing?
Digital marketing is continuously changing and there are always new and interesting things to explore. The power of online advertising is extraordinary, with the ability to reach global audiences with your message across a multitude of digital platforms!
What’s your favorite way to spend the weekend?
I love enjoying the sunshine with friends! I spend my weekends listening to live music, hiking in the Oakland hills and relaxing by Lake Merritt with good friends, board games, and a good beer.
What have you learned and how have you grown at JUST Media?
JUST Media has taught me how to be a leader, a manager and advertiser. I have grown significantly as a professional due to my amazing colleagues and mentors, and have learned about all facets of the digital advertising space.
What does it take to be successful at JUST Media?
JUST Media is a great collaborative space that fosters creativity and thinking outside of the box. To be successful at JUST Media, bring ideas to the table, stay organized and open your mind to different perspectives and approaches to complex situations. Be a sponge and don’t be timid to ask the hard questions.
What trends or innovations are happening in your field?
With the increasing concerns in data protection and new technology trends, I see traditional media and new ways of buying through programmatic to become very popular. Already, I am seeing an increase in utilizing OOH amongst my clients. Technology has also allowed us to target in ways that we haven’t before with in-depth persona targeting and behavioral profiles, making it easier for our IT clients to reach very niche audiences. Another trend I have seen in recent conversations has been around creative. Creative is becoming increasingly more important in grasping attention of our audiences and cutting through the noise of an already crowded ad world.
What does “Growth With Purpose” mean to you?
We want our campaigns to be successful in order to reach ultimate client goals (expanding the brand, growing their client base, changing the game of a new service, etc). Growth with Purpose is to understand these goals as you work on individual campaigns to ensure the programs are developing into this overall vision. The same can be said when looking at small tasks in JUST Media and my own personal growth.
What inspires you at JUST Media?
All of my amazing colleagues! Everyone at JUST Media is very knowledgeable about different facets of the industry and are always willing to share what they have learned! I am continuously learning from these great people about how to approach different situations and understand new strategies. They inspire me to be curious, insightful, and bold.
Is there a project or other achievement you’ve earned while working at JUST Media that you’re most proud of?
The biggest achievements have come from great collaboration with my team, making regular and thoughtful optimizations that ultimately led to client successes! We had a campaign this fiscal that advertised a new webinar launch that took over the client’s site. For this campaign, we digitally surrounded target accounts through high impact, standard display, social and native ads. We also purchased billboards along commuting arteries to Santa Clara and San Francisco. Ultimately, the client was very pleased by the work we were able to do as a team, leading to a 74% lift in total traffic from our media, 1.4MM video views and 15K webpage landings!
What has been your favorite agency event?
Summer Fridays have been a great time to get together with my peers and play board games over snacks and drinks!
What advice would you give to someone who is just getting their career starting in digital marketing?
Try to soak in as much information as possible. Be patient with the ever-changing industry, stay organized, and take notes. Understand that every client is different and there are different strategies and approaches to every situation.
