Team Spotlight: Meet Tasha Freeman

Meet Tasha Freeman

The vibrant culture here at Just Media is fueled by the amazing people that we work with.  In our Team Spotlight series, we feature a different member of the team, highlighting the individuals that contribute to our culture.

Meet Tasha Freeman, Media Account Supervisor. Traveler, Do-er, Unsolved Mystery Fanatic.

What is your role at Just Media?

I am a Media Account Supervisor on the a couple of high-growth tech companies. My primary role is to help drive strategy for media plans and liaison between the Specialist teams and clients.

What have you learned & how have you grown at Just Media?

Before coming to Just Media, I had never heard of Content Syndication and had worked with very few tech B2B clients. I’ve learned so much about how to target this very niche audience and how to layer on intent-data to reach people who are actively in market for our clients’ products.

What does it take to be successful at Just Media?

It takes curiosity to be successful at Just Media. A lot of our clients do not have products/services that we interact with in our everyday lives, so it takes extra research and investigation to successfully navigate this space.

What has been your favorite agency event at Just Media?

My favorite event was the Succulent design class with our team Katies Ladies!

What inspires you at Just Media?

I’m inspired by the diversity of thought and the presence of teams who specialize in platforms that I am less familiar with (i.e. Search). I glean so much knowledge from just sitting in on people like Sydnee.

What’s your favorite way to spend the weekend?

I like hopping in a car and exploring local gems, like the Point Reyes, Yountville, and San Simeon.

As someone who has been working on getting your MBA, how are you able to manage work and school?

Just Media has been extremely supportive during my MBA journey—from being understanding of vacation days used for studying to checking in to see how tests/presentations went. To better manage the workload, I try to work ahead as much as possible. That way I never feel overwhelmed with my deliverables.

How is getting an MBA helping you in your current role?

Being enrolled in an MBA program has helped shape my perspective of business in seeing beyond just my department. Now that I’ve taken Management, Finance, and IT classes, I feel that I have a more holistic understanding of what drives a company’s success.

Any tips for anyone looking to get their MBA while working a full time position?

Although it is a bit of a sacrifice, utilize lunch and metro commute time (if applicable) to read or study. Try to make the most of all free hours of the day!

Finally, what advice would you give someone who is just getting their career started in marketing?

Read as many advertising blogs as possible to stay current on new developments because the world of marketing and advertising technology moves quickly. I’d also suggest subscribing to content in your client’s industry to better learn about the space in which they operate.
